A search operation was launched following a suspicious movement near IB in J&K’s Kathua

JAMMU, May 19: Security forces have launched a massive search operation after detecting the movement of three suspected persons, believed to be terrorists, near the international border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, officials said on Sunday.

A special police officer (SPO) reported the movement of suspicious persons at Tarnah nallah near Jangi chak in Hiranagar sector on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, officials said.

An alert was immediately sounded in the entire Sanyal Border Police Station area and reinforcements from police, army and BSF were deployed for joint search and cordon operation, they said.

Searches are underway in Tarnah nallah and adjoining villages, including Rakh Sarkar Palhi and Pathwal, officials said. (Agencies)
